WASHINGTON — Wexler | Walker today announced the appointment of current president, George Rogers, to CEO. Effective immediately, Rogers assumes executive management of the government affairs firm.

“George was a great addition to our team four years ago both because of his wealth of political knowledge and experience in Washington, D.C., and because we had an eye toward this transition we are announcing today,” said Dale Snape, vice chairman of Wexler | Walker. “Having seen him deliver significant results on behalf of our clients and serve as a driving force behind the firm’s growth, we know he is the right person to lead our company’s continued evolution.”

Having joined the firm in 2012 and becoming president in 2014, George Rogers has been guiding operations and strategy for the firm and works with a range of corporate, trade association, and coalition clients to address legislative and regulatory issues. Rogers began his service in Washington with the U.S. Senate with Sen. Richard Lugar (R-IN), and with more than 13 years on Capitol Hill, he has close relationships with Republican leadership in both the House and Senate, as well as strong working relationships with top Democratic staff. Rogers has exceptionally well-rounded professional and executive leadership experience in government and public policy, having previously served as senior staff for a Speaker of the House, a Minority Leader of the House, and for the powerful Committee on Rules, among other roles. His areas of client focus include financial services and banking, alternative investment, tax, cybersecurity, intellectual property, technology, antitrust, and acquisitions and mergers.

“After spending the past four years working alongside this incredibly talented team, I’m honored for the opportunity to lead this next chapter in Wexler | Walker’s history,” Rogers said. “For 26 years as partners, Hill+Knowlton Strategies and Wexler | Walker have been leaders in their respective fields of public affairs and government affairs. In this day and age, when the lines between public affairs and government affairs are increasingly blurred, we offer clients seamless, effective and efficient advocacy. I look forward to continuing to provide creative and innovative counsel to our clients.”

Wexler | Walker and Hill+Knowlton Strategies will be celebrating the leadership transition and their 26 years of partnership with a bipartisan group of members of Congress and staff, clients, and friends of the firms, at a reception this evening on Capitol Hill.

“As we work with clients in a complex public affairs environment, we are pleased to bring to campaigns a full fleet of services, from content strategy, to research and analytics, to advocacy and influencer relations. Bob Walker, in his role as executive chairman, and our partners at Wexler | Walker have been important contributors to those efforts since they joined the H+K family 26 years ago,” said Mike Coates, president and CEO of Hill+Knowlton Strategies’ Americas region. “On behalf of H+K, I congratulate George on his new role and thank him for his commitment.”
