Today at the PR News Top Women in PR Awards luncheon held in New York City, one of the many impressive honorees was H+K’s Liz Torrez, senior vice president in the Chicago office.
The Top Women in PR program celebrates communicators who have made bold advances in managing crises, developing brand messages and protecting and building brand reputations for their organizations or clients. Liz is recognized at H+K as a true professional who stops at nothing to get things done. She is committed to doing what it takes to deliver excellent work and is known as the epitome of the balanced professional, making a commitment to engage externally in her community and with her fellow colleagues.
When asked at the event to share an insight or advice from her career, Liz had a powerful message for the honorees and the audience about speaking up. “Ask for what you want,” Liz encouraged. “If you don’t ask for it, you won’t get it. Go out there and get it.”
For more than 12 years, Liz has been at the heart of some of H+K’s top and award-winning accounts. Liz expertly manages a team of more than 40 people who provide support for one client company’s enterprise-wide corporate activities. Liz has also served as the Chicago office liaison for H+K’s women’s network, H+K HER (Helping Executives Rise), since its launch.
“It comes as no surprise to me that Liz earned a spot on this list,” said Claire Koeneman, executive vice president and GM of the Chicago office. “I’ve been lucky to work closely with her over the past few years, truly benefiting from her enthusiasm and dedication. I know the entire H+K team joins me in extending a huge congratulations to Liz on this honor.”
