Last night, at the Public Relations Society of America Silver Anvil awards ceremony in New York, H+K received a Silver Anvil for its work leading communications efforts to build awareness for the 2016 Invictus Games while showcasing the healing power of sports and the perseverance of military men and women.
The campaign also earned recognition as one of just five 2017 Best of Silver Anvil Finalists, which identifies the top five campaigns from the industry in the past year.
“The Silver Anvil represents the most extraordinary communications work being done today. The inspirational work and integrated efforts of the Invictus Games Orlando 2016 team is yet another example,” said PRSA 2017 National Chair Jane Dvorak, APR, Fellow PRSA. “We share in their accomplishment and congratulate the win for the Victory: Sharing the Inspiring Stories of Wounded Warriors campaign.”
As the only international sporting event for injured servicemen and women, the Invictus Games inspire recovery, rehabilitation and support for participants. To uncover and share the stories of these remarkable athletes, a multidisciplinary team of H+K writers, digital designers and social media experts leveraged every tool and platform possible to heighten awareness and showcase the true spirit of the event.
“Working with the Invictus Games was an extraordinary honor,” said Lauren Herchert, vice president and Invictus team lead at Hill+Knowlton Strategies. “Launching the games in the US gave our team an eye-opening perspective of the unconquerable spirit and determination of the competitors. It was a privilege to share their stories and the games with fans across the world.”
The Silver Anvil is the latest in a string of recognition and accolades earned by H+K and the Invictus Games in recent months, including a PRSA Bronze Anvil Award of Excellence, a Hermes Creative Award and a PR News Nonprofit PR Award.
In addition to the Invictus campaign, H+K also earned a Silver Anvil Award of Excellence in the Public Affairs Business category for work done in partnership with Extraction Oil & Gas, building a base of advocates for its operations in Colorado.
