John Derryberry

Derryberry has over 20 years of communications experience as a corporate narrative builder and media expert with a track record of results shaping perceptions of technology brands and executive leaders. He brings strategic thinking to thought leadership programs, business press, and executive visibility campaigns and has experience with a range of technologies including fintech, digital marketing, cloud computing, industrial IoT, AI, enterprise software, and more.

Most recently, John was the FinTech and Innovation Communications Leader at Western Union, leading the company’s digital transformation narrative and CEO messaging with a brief to drive more powerful, engaging storytelling in venues such as CNBC, Fortune, The Economist, Bloomberg, and the World Economic Forum.

He was previously an Executive Vice President at Edelman Silicon Valley where he created a pillar of Edelman’s technology practice and led the Adobe account for over 12 years across 7 offices. Derryberry was at the forefront of Adobe’s pivotal product launches, business model transformations (including Omniture and Macromedia), and corporate PR campaigns that evolved the brand’s reputation and business. In that time, Adobe grew to become Edelman’s third-largest account in the U.S. and 9th largest globally, winning numerous creative awards including a Gold Lion at Cannes. 

John previously was a partner in a technology-focused agency in Silicon Valley and New York that Edelman acquired in 2006. He holds a bachelor’s degree in modern thought and literature from Stanford University.
